EEUA is incredibly glad to have organized a successful visit of Minzu University of China (MUC) to several well-known universities in Russia and Ukraine with the purpose of establishing mutually beneficial cooperation. MUC delegation consisted of 6 university representatives: University President Prof Chen Li, University Director Prof Zhang Junhao, Deputy Dean Prof  Ren Guoying, Deputy Director Ass Prof Guan Yanyu, School Secretary of the Communist Party of China Mr He Guang and Teacher of the Dept. of Russian Language and Literature Mr Jia Changlong.

 

Minzu University of China is one of most important comprehensive universities in China, one of the 38 key universities receiving direct development support from the Chinese government, and a microcosm of the big family of Chinese ethnic groups with 56 ethnic groups harmoniously mixing together. The main focus of MUC is Humanities and Ethnic studies with courses covering Liberal Arts, Science, Management, Education, Law, Art etc. 

 

The first university visited by the delegation – Sumy State University (SSU), one of Ukraine top-tier regional universities, – warmly greeted the respected Chinese representatives in all the traditions of Ukrainian hospitality with festive dinner and a thorough tour of SSU flagship campus, incl. Library Information Center, new Academic Building etc.

 

Chinese guests were interested in collaboration in such spheres as Engineering, Natural sciences, IT, Culture and Art. The First Vice-Rector Prof Vasyl Karpusha admitted that SSU works closely with China in different directions and has Confucius class, where students can study Chinese.

 

The representatives of both universities expressed a desire to work in collaboration on student academic mobility and to start common scientific projects and, thus, signed an agreement about cooperation.

 

October 11th the delegation paid a visit to the reputed Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, which has a reputation of excellence in teaching and research. The delegation members got acquainted with universitys potential and international cooperation opportunities. The universities found common grounds and agreed to prepare detailed cooperation proposals, incl. a visit of MUC dancing group to Taras Shevchenko National University.

 

On October 14th the delegation visited Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia - one of the oldest teacher-training institutions in the country founded in 1797. The delegation met the First Vice-Rector Prof Goncharov Sergei Alexandrovich, Doctor of Philology, Honoured Scientist of the Russian Federation. The universities discussed key interests and cooperation options in the following spheres: 1+3 and 2+2 joint degree programmes in the fields of Music and Art; training of MUC Master and Postgraduate students at Herzen State Pedagogical University; Language courses (language internships) for MUC Linguistics students at Herzen State Pedagogical University. The universities agreed to prepare detailed proposalы as to particular joint programmes in the above-mentioned spheres.

 

The crowning visit of the delegation was to Sholokhov Moscow State University of Humanitites. In frame of the visit the delegation met Mr Glazkov Andrei Alexandrovich, Vice-Rector for Science, Innovation & Strategy, PhD. The universities outlined their main education spheres and core interests of cooperation, reaching an agreement to prepare detailed proposals of 1+3 and 2+2 joint degree programmes in the fields of Life Navigation, Art and Management, as well as training of MUC Master and Postgraduate students at Sholokhov Moscow State University of Humanitites.

 

Eastern European University Association is delighted that the universities have succeeded in finding mutually beneficial cooperation solutions and the visit of Minzu University of China to Russia & Ukraine proved successful.
