March 07-08, 2014, EEUA participated in International Education Fair in Kampala, Uganda and conducted a scholarship competition for Ugandan high school graduates in order to enable them to enter top universities of Russia.
The Olympiad was organized in form of a test in Mathematics which was free of charge for any high school students wishing to participate. According to the results of the competition 5 most successful candidates will be awarded 3-5 state scholarships for studying in the most prestigious technical universities in Russia.
About 60 students participated in the contest and will be informed about the results in the first week of April. Many students also inquired about studying on a contract basis and expressed keen interest both in Bachelor and Master programs whereby the main fields of their interest were Medicine, various Engineering courses and Economics. The fair was also visited by many prospective students who are supposed to finish school next year and are now taking decision as to their study abroad destination.
At EEUA stand the students could obtain all necessary information and brochures about the leading universities in Russia, Ukraine & Belarus. Moreover each student received personal guidance as to which universities offer his/her course and the privilages of studying at a particular university.
The fair was also attended by two representatives of National University of Science and Technology “MISiS” who distributed information about various Engineriing and Metallurgy courses available at their university. Most attention was drawn to MISiS Master programmes in Metallurgy which are offered completely in English language.
It was a pleasure to communicate with young Ugandans who appeared to have serious intentions and sufficient qualifications for joining Russian & Belarus universities.
Education in Russia & Belarus is getting increasingly popular among Ugandans as it is both high-quality and affordable, and the degree is recognized worldwide making student mobility as easy as pie. Moreover taking into account that more than 50 courses are currently offered in English at Russian universities, it is easy and time-efficient for young Ugandans to further their education in Russia.
EEUA is enormously satisfied with the quality of students attending the fair and looks forward to welcoming them in Russia & Belarus!
