EEUA participated in NAFSA 2014!

EEUA General Director and Universities Marketing and Relations Manager attended by far the biggest and most enthralling IHE event – NAFSA 2014 Annual Conference & Expo held in San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA, USA, on May 25-30, 2014. With nearly 10,000 members on more than 3,500 campuses in the United States, NAFSA is uniquely positioned to be a force for internationalization of higher education and NAFSA annual conferences have proven to be the major networking platform for universities from all over the world.

EEUA had a big stand which acquainted the visitors with Eastern European University Association, the scope of its activity and its ground-breaking initiative – IUNC conferences with global outreach:

It was immense pleasure to find a large number of universities coming to EEUA stand and showing keen interest both in collaboration with CIS universities and in participation in IUNC conferences on different continents.

EEUA conducted a number of appointments with universities from USA, Portugal, Argentina, China, Korea, UK, Spain, Australia, Japan, Canada, Italy, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Germany, Hungary and other countries. The parties discussed the opportunities and prospects for collaboration with universities of Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus and other CIS countries.

Some Russian universities even managed to make it to the conference in person, namely Ural Federal University and Moscow State University of Statistics and Informatics who were welcome to conduct their appointments at EEUA stand.

Concerning the IUNC 2015 conference program, EEUA has closed several significant agreements. EEUA and AIEA (Association of International Education Administrators) have agreed to hold back-to-back conferences in February 2015 – IUNC North America “Pathways to Transnational Education” and AIEA ANNUAL CONFERENCE “Leading Global Learning: Envisioning New Paradigms (February 11-18, 2015, Washington, DC).

Moreover, EEUA met with FPP Media – the largest student recruitment fair organizer in Latin America.  The parties discussed IUNC Latin America agreeing to hold back-to-back conferences in Brazil in March 2015.

These arrangements will be very beneficial for educators and HE professionals as they will be able to combine two international HE networking events in one place making their trip to the conference venue both time- and cost-efficient and allowing them to get fully entangled in boundless international university cooperation opportunities.

In frame of the conference EEUA also held negotiations with the Ministry of Education of Colombia (Ministerio de Educación National de Colombia). The parties agreed to provide mutual support, as well as to hold IUNC Latin America under the patronage of Ministry of Education of Colombia, which is a big step towards succcessful conference organization.

Besides prime networking opportunities, NAFSA participants were offered numerous opportunities to take part in multiple amusing contests organized by other participants, e.g. the PIE News, in frame of which EEUA managed to win a bottle of refined champagne and a month of free advertising on the PIE NEWS.

NAFSA creates a professional environment full of networking opportunities and EEUA participation in this magnificent event is bound to create closer ties between CIS universities and universities from around the world and will certainly contribute to further development of internationalization of CIS education entailing successful intl cooperation establishment.
