Belgorod State Shukhov Technological University is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year!
Belgorod State Shukhov Technological University is like a magnet for students from all over the world who are seeking high quality education in technical specialities. With more than 50 year experience of training engineers for building complex and construction industry, BSTU today is the best higher educational establishment (HEE) of this profile in the Russian Federation in terms of the range of specialties and the quality of education. Established as a basic branch institution of building materials industry, it is the only university of such profile in Europe today, providing integral training of engineers in this field.
This year Belgorod State Shukhov Technological University is celebrating its 60th anniversary and a lot of activities are organized to honour this significant milestone event.
The most outstanding unprecedented project has been organized by the university administration – a cross-country international bike-journey in honor of the anniversary.
The project was initiated by Mr Evgeniy Kapustin, the Head of BSTU international cooperation centre who is a professional biker and has made extensive bike journeys to different CIS countries. With the solid support of BSTU Rector and university administration the project has finally been implemented.
The bike journey was solemnly started on June 11, 2014, on the main university square. a lot of university students and staff gathered to see the start of the journey and wish the travelers favourable weather and a good journey. The rector of the university - Prof S.N. Glagolev, EEUA General director - Mr Bogdan Voronovskyi and the Chair of the Department of Physical culture and Sport – Prof S.I. Kramskoi wished Mr Kapustin luck and expressed their confidence in the successful completion of the anniversary celebration bike-journey which is to end in Vladivostok.
Mr Kapustin assured that he would be honoured to carry the BSTU flag across all our vast country.
The journey will cover 12000 kilometres, from Belgorod to Vladivostok, and will include such cities as Ylyansk, Novosibirsk, Ulan-Ude, Chita and many others. Besides the travelers will visit Kazakhstan and Mongolia. The bike journey is to end on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in Nakhodka.
During the whole journey BSTU delegation will be meeting with BSTU graduates and representatives of BSTU partner universities, as well as with potential applicants. The main goal of the bike journey is the presentation of BSTU as one of the leading universities in construction industry.
EEUA strongly supports this tremendous large-scale project and congratulates BSTU with its 60th anniversary wishing still more students both from Russia and overseas!
