October 25, 2014, EEUA paid a visit to Suzhou - the ninth most populous city in mainland China, as well as one of the richest major cities often referred to as the "Venice of the East" or "Venice of China".
EEUA participated in international education fair held by our long-term partner – Suzhou Overseas Affairs and conducted numerous personal meetings with potential students and their parents.
The students showed great interest in Russian universities, mostly in such courses as Arts and Engineering. A lot of students claimed that their interest towards Russia was initially evoked by Russia’s rich history and cultural heritage. EEUA noted that this is a very good sign that the students are attracted to the country not only because of relative affordability of tuition fee at Russian state universities but also because of a variety of ethical factors.
Being the economical, trading and logistics center of Jiangsu ProvinceSuzhou is certainly a big market worth exploring. We would like to thank our partner Suzhou Overseas Affairs for helping us reach the Chinese students and provide students with detailed information about available courses, tuition fee, living conditions and scholarship opportunities.
EEUA is very glad to note that in such regional cities as Suzhou the number of students interested in studying in Russia keeps growing every year.
EEUA will definitely visit Suzhou next summer to meet with young Chinese students and give them comprehensive guidance towards their specialty and the suitable university. We are sure we will soon see tangible results of the seminars and the number of Chinese students at Russian universities will further increase.
