February 27-28, 2015, EEUA for the 2nd time participated in the education fair in the very heart of Indonesia - Jakarta. 2015 World Education Festival hosted about 50 well-known universities, education companies and associations from Switzerland, Indonesia, France, Great Britain, Malaysia and other countries. EEUA represented universities of Russia and Belarus.
According to Liquid Future Indonesia has the fourth largest education system in the world yet in a landmark education report of 50 nations Indonesia ranked last. Therefore, quite a number of students are opting for study abroad destinations like USA, UK, Germany, Russia etc.
The fair was crowded with high school and university students who came from different cities of the Java Island which happens to be the most thickly inhabited island in the world. The fast-developing effective relations between Russia and Indonesia have greatly fueled the interest in Russian education thus increasing high reputation of Russian universities in Indonesia. It was the first time the students asked EEUA representatives about Oil & Gas courses. It was of great pleasure to see so many young Indonesians showing genuine interest in Russia, its culture, education system etc. The students are also very keen on Russian football, tennis and badminton, and know thenames of Arshavina, Sharapova, Kafelnikova, and other Russian outstanding sportsmen.
Students inquired both about Bachelor and Master courses, in Russian and in English. Most demanded courses among the students were Engineering, Cnstruction and Medicine. However many students also expressed interest towards such courses as Business, Management and Marketing. EEUA rep also noted the increasing interest towards Linguistics, Military courses, Design and Pedagogical training.
October 2015 EEUA is planning to participate in the next WEF education fair offering new projects and courses of Russian and Belarusian universities. We believe Indonesia has great potential and will be glad to see more indonesian students in Russia!
