March 23 – 26, 2015, EEUA attended the 10th Annual APAIE Conference, hosted by Peking University in Beijing, China. The APAIE Annual Conference and Exhibition is one of the most well-known forums in the Asia-Pacific region for bringing together policy-makers and education experts from around the world to improve professional skills and learn about new developments in international education.

Under the engaging conference theme: “The New Paradigm of Engaging Asia Pacific Universities for Exchange and Cooperation in a Global Context: Challenges, Opportunities and Solutions” EEUA representative and other conference participants embarked on a series of engrossing pre-conference workshops, exhibitions, keynotes, parallel sessions, networking coffee breaks and lunches, visits to local universities and city tours.

Higher education institutions in the Asia-Pacific region are increasingly embracing international education as their strategic mission. This phenomenon is no doubt driven by the changing political, social and economic landscape of the region.

EEUA representatives (Russian and Chinese speaking) met with many university represebtatives from different countries, mostly form China, and managed to conclude a number of promising agreements on possible academic cooperation with Russian universities.

It was of immense interest for us to participate in this year APAIE and look at the challenges and opportunities for institutions inside and outside the Asia-Pacific region in their efforts to create strong international cooperation in the education sphere.
