25 August 2016
August 22-24, 2016, EEUA participated in the renowned education event in South Africa – IEASA Global conference on Internationalization of Higher Education which this year addressed the globally significant topic “A Global International Higher Education Commons: Evaluating and Imagining the Internationalization of Higher Education”. The conference was organized by International Education Association of South Africa, a non-profit organisation, established as a result of the need for universities in South Africa to respond to international educational trends and to remain competitive within the global higher education environment.
The conference was attended by universities from many countries and the special value of the conference was of course the chance to meet about 150 universities from Africa, particularly South Africa. EEUA was given the opportunity to present cooperation opportunities with Eastern Europe and give a brief overlook of International Universities Networking Conference as a tool to find new international partners from all over the world. It was nice to meet our old-time partners, Mr Wisemann Jack from the University of South Africa.
The event was held at Kruger National Park, a very beautiful and characteristic environment, which gave the conference participants the feeling of being not just at a conference but in the very heart of South Africa!
We do hope that our participation in this event will yield positive results for the future cooperation between Russian and foreign universitites. We thank IEASA organizers for giving us the opportunity to present IUNC and expect to attend this conference next year!
