It was great honour for EEUA to attend the General Assembly of the Compostela Group which took place in Castelló, Spain, September 19-20, 2016. It was the 1st time EEUA attended the Assembly and we enjoyed it tremendously. Hosted by the Universitat Jaume I, it was attended by representatives from more than 30 universities and included the celebration of its General Council Meeting, an academic journey focused on the role of civil society in university innovation, as well as the awarding ceremony of the International Prize Grupo Compostela-Xunta de Galicia.
The attendees had the opportunity to attend an experts’ debate on internationalization and its relation with civil society and industry.
On Monday 19th, the CGU member Universities joined the General council meeting, ten institutions were welcome to the Group; also a team of students from the Universitat Jaume I were awarded as winners of the V International Video Contest.
On Tuesday 20th, professor Per Kristensson, from Karlstad University, held the opening session with a presentation on the relations among university, public sector, industry and civil society. The results of the pilot edition of the International Research Pitches were be presented.
This was great opportunity for us to meet a number of new partners interested in cooperation with universities of Eastern Europe. In addition EEUA signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Compostela Group of Universities which will no doubt lead to the enlargement of cooperation between our Associations.
