In the middle of January Russia was slowly returning to daily routine after numerous festivities. However the Eastern European Universities Association had a busy week hosting important guests from the prominent university in Inner Mongolia, Heylar, China. Hulunbeir University has a long history of high quality education and a special feature of catering for various ethnicities. The visit to Russia had been considered promising from the beginning since it incorporated tours to leading universities in several cities of Russia. The first destination was Moscow, where the group was warmly welcomed at Moscow State Engineering Institute, Moscow State Humanities University named after Sholokhov and Moscow State Regional University. Several negotiations were held regarding future collaboration. Next day the guests went sightseeing in Moscow before heading for Belgorod. The essential meeting took place at Belgorod State Shukhov Technological University, where the group was greeted by the managing staff and the Vice-Chancellor of the University himself. At the end of the meeting a cooperation treaty was signed, which signifies the beginning of a new long-term partnership. The university also arranged a familiarizing tour in the city after which the group left for St. Petersburg. Upon arrival the representatives of Hulunbeir University paid visits to St. Petersburg Technical University and to St. Petersburg State University of economics and tourism. Among the most notable topics of discussions were launching of double diploma programs, language internships for Chinese students and obtaining Master’s degrees in Russia. Thankfully, all meetings were beneficial for both sides and the group set out home in high spirits after taking a short glimpse at the beauty of the northern capital. The EEUA team is grateful to the guests for coming and looks forward multiple collaboration projects between Hulunbeir University and its new partners.
